NOC 2021 version 1.0

Starting November 16, 2022, Employment and Social Development Canada programs are migrating to the NOC 2021 version 1.0. For any new applications submitted, the NOC 2021 version must be used.

Pilot Extension

On August 26th 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada confirmed the pilot extension until February 2024. Communities can issue recommendations until February 2024, and candidates have until August 2024 to submit their permanent residency application to IRCC. Find information here.

Boundary Expansion

A boundary expansion was also announced. New North Bay boundaries include North Temagami, South Burks Falls, East Mattawa, and West Sturgeon Falls. Find a map here.

National Occupational Classification 2021

On November 16, 2022, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will be switching to the 2021 version of the National Occupational Classification (NOC). Please refer to IRCC website to know how this will affect the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).

Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) and the North Bay, Ontario area.

In partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the North Bay area has entered into an agreement to benefit our region with this pilot project.

Each of the 11 communities across the country that are participating in the pilot have tailored their immigration program to meet the economic goals and to develop our local economy by supporting the development of our workforce in high demand jobs.
